The psychological core of the film explores Mary’s desperate attempt to reconstruct the previous night. She “has no memory of what happened,” a mental void that becomes her greatest enemy. As she cleans the physical mess, she is haunted by flashes of fragmented images that may be repressed memories or hallucinations. Every clue she uncovers—a broken glass, a strange phone message, an unlocked door—only deepens the mystery of whether she is a cold-blooded killer or a victim of a sophisticated frame-up.
